Installing Windows 8

Postby threichert » Tue Jul 10, 2012 8:04 pm

Hope you can help me. I just purchased DualBootPro in the hopes that I could install and boot to Windows 8 Release Preview. My current config is that I dual boot with Windows 7 as primary and have Windows XP on another drive. The Windows 7 drive is partitioned into two partitions and the second partition used to have Windows Vista on it, but I got rid of it to install Windows 8. I boot from the Windows 8 DVD and install it to the other partition, but when I reboot it boots back into Windows 7and I manually add Windows 8 using DualBootPro (the best I can figure out). But when I reboot and select Windows 8, I get a system error with something about could not verify boot files, or integrity, or something like that. Any ideas what I am doing wrong? Thanks. ;)

Before I installed Windows XP on one drive, then Windows Vista and Windows 7 on another physical drive but different partitions. I did not unplug any hard drives, but I have added two more hard drives since then.

Start Dual Boot Pro;

Run diagnostics;

go to the Operating System tab and see which operating systems show up.

Only Windows XP and Windows 7 showed up, I manually added Windows 8 but I do not know if I did it right. On reboot when I selected to boot to Windows 8, I get an immediate screen saying something about untrusted files or something like that. I have since removed Windows 8 and posted this thread to see if I could find out how to install it correctly and have it boot properly.

Since you aren't able to get to your installation of Windows 8, try using this guide and reinstall again
