Hey all. Been a while, thought I'd pop back in and see if anyone wanted to comment. I'm finally about to graduate college, I've got my job and apartment all set up. It's weird thinking how many hours I used to spend here before and during high school and now I'm an old man, hahaha.

Anyway, along with a salary comes a new PC. I definitely think I'll be getting some variation of the GTX 680, but I want to embrace some new technology with this system, not just build another more powerful version of what I already have. So while I want it to be a beast of a system, I don't have unlimited funds. So I'm trying to decide: Do I go with 3 23-27" monitors for 2D surround? Or 1 good 3D monitor? I've definitely cut back on my gaming a little bit since I've been in college, but I will probably have more time for it once I'm working. So I'm thinking some 3D Battlefield 3 or Trackmania would be pretty fun. However, 3D will really only enhance movies and games...the other option is to get 3 cheaper 23-27" monitors for Nvidia 2D Surround. This will give me a ton of desk real-estate and still help immerse me into games, while being relatively useless for movies.

me personally, I'd go with the one good Monitor, but then I'm not a gamer or watch movies on my computer

Well, they'll all be "good monitors", but the 1 expensive one will support 120hz for 3D. In either case, I'll have at least 1 pretty monitor to look at

a 3D monitor does sound interesting though. I have a 3D LED TV that came w/ special tinted glasses (like polarized shades), that work great.
I was warned about 3D TVs that needed special glasses like the "shutter" type as sometime they will be obsolete.

I really wish I had a rich friend who had a 3d gaming setup. I mean, I really want to try it out before I blow $700 on a monitor. But for movies and things, it could be cool. Though when I think about it, I only watch movies with people, and my roommate has a 55" 2d TV that we'll probably get a decent surround sound system for... so maybe I should just assume that I'll be watching movies on some other monitor. Ohhhh these tough life decisions

I wouldn't spend 700 on a monitor, but that's me. It took me a long time to spend 500 on a floor model 47 in LCD TV to replace a old 27 in old style TV that was giving up the ghost lol
