Windows 7 Multi-boot Drive Letter
I installed a second copy of Windows 7 by booting from the Windows 7 Media and used the "Custom Advanced" option to install the second copy on Drive F: on Disk 1. The first copy is on Drive C: on Disk 0. When I boot the second copy, the drive letter is changed to C:. I wanted it to be F:. I used DualBootPRO1.1 to rename the two boot options. However, DualBootPRO shows that the drive letter for the second copy is F: I ticked the "Change Boot Drive" check box and "Applied Updates" again; but still no luck. I'm running DualBootPRO from the first copy of Windows 7. How can a change the boot drive letter for the second copy of Windows 7? I pasted a copy of the detailed version of DualBootPRO's Boot Information View below:

Re: Windows 7 Multi-boot Drive Letter
Windows 7 always sees itself as being on the "C" drive when you boot into it, no matter how many partition/installs one has.

Re: Windows 7 Multi-boot Drive Letter
It's possible to control the installation procedure to have persistent drive letters across multiple Windows setups ; but apart for some unusual and particular reasons to do so, the effort required to do so is simply not worth it in the slightest.
