File Hosting
I was wondering if anyone has had any experience with places like Mediafire or Filehosting.org, our company website is hosted through 'smartetailing' and for our owner who is not tech oriented its great. Now that I am in the process of making some changes to our site, not so great. We want to host some downloadable pdf's, (maps of cycling routes), and we are too heavily vested with our current hosting to start over (they also hos a product catalog and some other bike specific things that make them practical for us) and so here I am.. Looking for a way to host downloadable files (I realize most of them are probably ok, but I trust you guys opinion)
Thanks guys
Add free if possible...

I use Live SkyDrive.
Here is a .pdf in a PRO > "everyone" folder I just created.

Its easy to use & free + one can control who gets the link.
Its also easy to dump the folder, files or add more.

Re: File Hosting
NP David, glad to help.
I'll probably only leave the Folder there for 1 week as it is wide open to everyone since the link is posted.

Re: File Hosting
Other options are DropBox and Ubuntu One or other cloud based storage systems. Most offer 2GB free.

Re: File Hosting
I know this is an old thread, but I saw it and just wanted to say that many places like DropBox are actually using Amazon's S3 service. Depending on the traffic of your site, if some of the other free options aren't giving you quite what you need, S3 pricing is about $.093/GB for storage and it's pretty flexible (you actually get a few GB free for the first year). Data transfer is free for the first 1GB of downloads, and $.12/GB after that.
