Framework error when starting DualBootPro

Postby tadams61 » Wed Oct 19, 2011 2:37 am

System Configuration: Intel DH67CL motherboard, 8GB memory, i5, WD4500HLHX disk, Windows 7 Professional 64 bit, Windows XP Professional 64 bit.
Installed Windows installer 3.1 (KB898715-x64), Net Framework 2.0 SP1 (NetFx20SP1_x64), DualBootPro 1.0
As soon as I attempt to run DualBootPro I get a .Net Framework error: Object reference not set to an instance of an object.
Here's the "DETAILS":
See the end of this message for details on invoking
just-in-time (JIT) debugging instead of this dialog box.

************** JIT Debugging **************
To enable just-in-time (JIT) debugging, the .config file for this
application or computer (machine.config) must have the
jitDebugging value set in the system.windows.forms section.
The application must also be compiled with debugging
enabled.

For example:

<configuration>
<system.windows.forms jitDebugging="true" />
</configuration>

When JIT debugging is enabled, any unhandled exception
will be sent to the JIT debugger registered on the computer
rather than be handled by this dialog box.

Got tired of waiting for someone from DualBootPro to respond to my problem so I started all over. Reformatted the disk partition, reinstalled XP Professional SP2 64 bit, and then installed on of the Intel drivers and Windows updates (122). Then, I installed DualBootPro and it's working fine. Only encountered one problem. Received an "ntldr missing" error when trying to boot into XP. Brought the system up in Windows 7, copied the ntldr file from the XP disk to the 7 disk and that solved the problem. I don't understand why ntldr has to be on the Windows 7 partition when it's for Windows XP but that's what solved the boot problem so I'm going to live with it.

CASE CLOSED!

tadams61,

Sorry for missing this earlier. I was away with a family emergency. Normally this error is associated with certain pieces missing from your configuration. If this happens again you can launch an elevated command prompt and type in bcdedit -enum all and post that here along with the error. Then we can start troubleshooting from there. Again, sorry this got missed. :yesnod:
