Greetings. Long time no post. Last dual boot lasted long time but new system so doing again. Went really smoothe with one remaining oddity.

Two separate hard drive each with Windows 7 installed on them. One for ME, one for my family who can screw up and infect a computer in no time

My Boot is on C:
Family Boot is on D:
* again, separate phyical drives

When I boot to my drive the drives appear correctly as:
My Computer
MyOS (C:)
FamilyOS (D:)

However when I boot to FamilyOS my computer shows:
My Computer
FamilyOS (C:)
No listing of MyOS at all or D: at all.

All utilities show the drives and their letters assigned coorectyl: Computer Management, Acronis True Image Disk Utility, VistaBoots scan and interpretation of drives. Obviously it really wants the loaded OS to be C: My last dual boot the same way didnt behave this way. I would like it to show, regardless of which booted OS:

My Computer
MyOS (C:)
FamilyOS (D:)

All thoughts welcome!

when you installed both OSes were both HDs installed for both installs?

are both HDs SATA or is one or both of the a IDE

I made an image of the first win drive over to second one then used True Image disk director to reset the imged c: to be d: drive. Shows up accurately everywhere except boot to that second OS. Does the window 7 install first done on C: cling to that setting somewhere in registry as being on C: regardless of where I rename the drive letter else where?

Both are SATA drives. Thanks for the reply.

I am not positive about it clinging to a drive letter but since it is an image, if I had to guess I would say yes, because it is an image and using the registry of the image
