Dual o/s on dual drives. Both see themselves as C
I have w7 and w vista each installed on seperate drives and seperate computers. Now both on same computer. I can change the sata wire and boot either from sata 1. I have added DBP in Vista as default and stars fine. I added Win 7 to dual boot pro list but can not start it. I am sure that the problem is that they booth see themselves a C drive. When I start Vista it shows Win 7 as M drive.

Re: Dual o/s on dual drives. Both see themselves as C
Windows Vista and Windows 7 will always see themselves as being on C drive. The only way to avoid that (not recommended) is to install the one from within the other, in which case the new installation will take on the drive lettering of the previously installed one.

Does this mean that I will not be able to boot both with DBP?

No, that means that when in Vista it sees itself as "C" (Win7 as "D" or some other letter)

To setup a dual boot with DBP, decide which drive you will make the 1st boot HDD in your BIOS (looks like you've decided on the Vista drive), then set it and do not change it again.
Then boot to Vista and in DBP and from the System Bootloader page, reinstall the Vista/Win 7 boot loader. Reboot and test your Windows 7 menu item, but make sure the drive letter as seen from Vista has been allocated to Windows 7 on the Operating Systems page of DBP.
If the above does not work for some reason or the other, boot to Vista again and delete the Win 7 entry from the Operating Systems page of DBP, and then try running a "startup repair" from your Win 7 DVD by going to the "Install now" setup screen and then select "Repair my computer". This will run "startup repair" and should create a dual boot menu. If your Win 7 DVD won't do it, try your Vista DVD.

None of the suggestions worked.

Post an image of your Disk Management please. It's likely that Windows 7 has a small hidden (System) partition which needs a drive letter allocated before it can be accessed.

It appears you are correct. See attached
