Yep, I tried that too, same results.

I also took a Win8 M-3 (leaked blue underwater w/ fish) wallpaper & rt. clk/set as desktop background, that worked too.

Thanks for the tip Daniel.

I'm surprised that this 'leaked' really. W7 was treated like national security in comparison! Is MS looking for extra expert feedback? :confused

I hope they don't expect expert feedback from me, I'll hack and probe around, but I'm like using a chainsaw to cut a birthday cake lol

You are the best type of beta tester Dan. If anything can survive that then it should ship! :yesnod:

I wish I could find a wallpaper at least that would work that at least said Windows 8 on it, I have tried to no avail to use some screen shots as the desktop, but all it does is show a black background )-:

There are a few here you can Dl, there aren't many that are authentic though.
Windows 8 Desktops

Black desktop screens suck, can you get back using a saved theme or something?

Edit: Oh ya, my logon screen reverted back to the default picture this AM.

oh yeah, I can back to a theme or whatever by right clicking, just don't understand why saving picture as desktop doesn't work, maybe its wrong resolution or something

I tried some of the desktops from the link you posted, didn't work for me at first. Then I decided to change the resolution to a lot lower one and had one work, even though there was a lot of black space on the side. I tried another one, it didn't work tried to go back to the other one but it wouldn't work again so I gave up for now LOL

That is odd, I am using 1024x768 resolution.

Something new:
I found this mentioned in a thread so I searched Control Pnl & found it.

It’s the “Enable Hybrid Boot (recommended)” check box

*I have not done any shutdown & start-up timing tests yet though to see if it does work.
It was pre-checked already.

That was the first place I had gone since mine is a laptop, I always change those setting to never specially when it is plugged in

I finally figured out how to use one of those Desktop backgrounds I had to go into nVidia control panel and tweek the scaling setting and adjust to 1024 x 768 like you have (reccommended is 1920 x 1200) the background at least now shows Windows 8 LOL
