Windows Xp problem [SOLVED]
i got a computer to fix and when i fixed it it was the windows i reinstalled it and everything looked alright but after a few days the computer got stuck for a few seconds then restarted and promted to instert system disk but when i got there only after a day theres was another error from the bios i think it was CMOS error so i reseted the fail safe default settings and the bios didint say anything but then the windows gave me BSOD (Blue Screen of Death) after a few trys a figured ill just reistall windows when i inserted windows cd ir booted but at the windows installation maniu it showed the windows partition with UNKNOWN partition type and there should of been NTFS i reistalled windows just fine but now again it sometimes gets stuck for like 5 minutes at startup windows is a clean installation with SP2 no other programs could it have something to do with the CMOS cuz everytime the windows get broken so do the CMOS error pops up HDD is a SATA with no shorting pin neither on master or slave it has 1 HDD 1 DVD my gues would be the RAM or the HDD any ideas?

Re: Windows Xp problem
So Windows install doesn't recognize the partiton as containing Windows? I would reformat that partition through Windows install and then try to reinstall Windows again.

Did that ant the windows looks alright now if not for the problem that if you leave the computer turned on for more than 10 minutes if freezes it doesn't Mather if you use it or not. ill do a full diagnostic the day after tomorrow and will try to see if the HDD or RAM test shows anything. any other ideas?

No, I'm fresh out. I've never had these problems with Windows, when I was using it. I'm not much of a Windows expert anymore though (if I ever was) so maybe somebody else knows more...

Re: Windows Xp problem
Sounds like hardware, but apart from that -- could be anything frankly
Though I'd check PSU first
