DualBootPro doesn't even see Linux on (hdo,1)
Hello,
I have Windows Vista on (hd0,2) and Ubuntu Studio on (hd0,1). Your Disk Manager sees Ubuntu as a Healthy Primary partition, but does not see the OS and will not put it in its list of OSs. When I use SuperGrub2 to boot from CD it sees both OSs and I can boot to either. But I cannot boot from the hard drive to either. I have been at it from both the Linux and the Windows side of things making one or the other the one you see at boot from the hard disk but I can't get either Grub or BCD to list both.
I tried *stolen software reference* 2.0, too, but these graphical boot utilities don't seem to get the job done. I'm an amateur with command line stuff and have tried some of the suggestions I have seen online but I get things like "command not found" when I get close to that carrot on that stick.
Any suggestions? Ubuntu was put on first, then Windows. I'm thinking, "just reinstall Ubuntu" but I would really like to understand the MBR thing.
Thank you,
Martin

DualBootPRO is not designed to work with linux and we make no claims that it can do so. The uhm...other software you mentioned is based on code stolen from us by it's "author" who was one of the programmers working on early versions of DualBootPRO.
If you purchased DualBootPRO from us to fulfill this specific need of yours then I think you should request a refund by sending your purchase information to us by email...note: do not post it here please.

As Grav!ty mentioned, PROnetworks' software won't help you much with Linux.
You can't get the Windows boot manager to list a non-Windows OS, so you'll have to get GRUB working again. I think these two links should help: http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/ubuntu/reinstall-ubuntu-grub-bootloader-after-windows-wipes-it-out/ and http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=198101 (the first one looks more helpful).
For future reference, if possible, install Windows first and then install Ubuntu... seems to work out better from my experience.
Mac OS 10.6.7 - Personal
Ubuntu Server 11.04 - Server
