CMOS Battery Orientation

CMOS Battery Orientation

Postby recap » Fri Aug 20, 2010 11:02 pm

I have a HP Pavilion a847c desktop with a Asus PTGD1-LA ( Goldfish) motherboard, socket 775.
I did a dumb thing when changing out the CMOS battery I forgot the correct orientation,it is mounted vertically ( on edge ) not flat on the board.
Can any tell me the correct orientation , that is, which direction for + face?

Thanks.

Thanks for your reply. I found a photo of the board on a web site and it looks as though the flat side (+) is facing in-board and the little domed side is toward the outside edge.
If you have an actual board I would appreciate if you could double check and let me know.
Thanks again.

I was just going by a picture that I found on the web, and it looked to me like the minus sign was facing into the middle of the board
