XP & Vista Dual Boot Problem
Ok
I installed XP Pro 32 bit
Partitioned my HDD
Then I installed Vista Home Premium 32 bit
Everything worked fine.....
......months later I installed XP on another HDD
Now when I try to boot My HDD I can only boot one or the other.
I have to remove Vista bootloader to boot XP, and add it to boot Vista
What's the deal here ?
Please Help !
Re: XP & Vista Dual Boot Problem
Booting from your Vista DVD & do a start-up repair.
You may have to edit your (XP) boot.ini to get the second/other XP to boot tho.

Re: XP & Vista Dual Boot Problem
Ive done that
When the recovery disk repairs Vista, it only allows me to boot Vista
I can only access XP when the Vista Bootloader is removed
Its not that I'm missing the XP bootloader, Its that the both over-ride eachother

Re: XP & Vista Dual Boot Problem
OIC you don't actually have a Vista DVD only a recovery disk.
Does your recovery disk have a choice to do a "Startup Repair" ?

Re: XP & Vista Dual Boot Problem
Yes the recovery disk has a repair option
It works when I repair Vista
But then I can't boot XP
When I uninstall Vista's bootmbr I can Boot XP
and vice versa
