DBP won't run says not compatible with system
Hi,
Purchased & downloaded DBP setup file this morning to my desktop.
Copied DBP setup file to usb drive and then to laptop where I have problem.
Laptop is Vista Home Premium 64-bit. Won't boot normally, but will boot in SAFE mode.
Booted laptop in SAFE mode, copied DBP to hard dish, tried to run DBP startup and got a windows error saying "version of file not compatible with version of windows running".
Help!
Thanks,
Paul

Are you trying to run it under SAFE mode and are receiving the error?

Thanks for the information. I will look into this matter. The .NET Framework should be available under SAFE mode.
What caused you to only be able to boot into SAFE mode?

Re: DBP won't run says not compatible with system
Yesterday, the laptop would not boot normal. I get the Blue Crash Screen with stop error: Process_Initialization_Failed.
Tried REPAIR (several times) under Safe mode - ended with saying there existed a startup error.
Purchased DBP expecting it could fix the boot file if in error.

Well, DBP won't be able to help with this error. Here are just a few of the troubleshooting options from Microsoft:
Did you recently install any hardware, software, or Windows updates?
- A new hardware or software has been improperly installed
- You have recently installed a Windows update, generally a driver update, which is incompatible with operating system
- The hard disk is infected from disk errors
- RAM is faulty

Re: DBP won't run says not compatible with system
Hi,
Thanks for your replies.
I'm familiar with the MS troubleshooting options...."broad brush".
I was under the impression that BDP could be used to resolve Boot Loader problems and might "show" some issues.
But my main issue that i came to the forum with was not resolving my Boot problem; my issue is that "BPD setup" will not execute - issue described initially above.
Thanks,
Paul

Re: DBP won't run says not compatible with system
Paul,
Yes, I am still working on that issue. I am not having any problems running the executable under Vista 64-bit while in SAFE mode. I'm removing things to see if I can break it.
However, I am going to get a zipped version up that will be available for download later this afternoon. That way you can use DBP while I am working on this issue. If you could just IM me your email address that you used to purchase DBP I can send you the link for that.
