DualBootPro doesn't start
hi,
just purchased DualBoot, on freshly installed WinXP pro, no service packs, .net 2.0.
After installing the program without errors, I get this when trying to run it:
"This application has failed to start because the application configuration is incorrect. Reinstalling the application may fix the problem"
well, it doesn't
please help
thanks
alex

alex,
Did you do a side-by-side installation?

alex,
I was wondering abut a side-by-side installation of DualBootPRO. After some research that is what this error possibly is. When you run it, are you running it from the shortcut or have you tried to navigate to the programs folder and run it?

Re: DualBootPro doesn't start
no, just installed it once, in XP, because I can't get to Win7 (yet... hopefully:-))
I was running from the shortcut, but since you suggested I tried also from the Program Files directory, with the same error
thanks

alex,
Glad to hear you got it fixed. Are you talking about .NET 2.0 SP1?? If so, I will make sure that gets updated in the requirements.

Re: DualBootPro doesn't start
no, I installed Windows SP1. Initially I had the original XP
anyway, amazingly enough, it works!!... :-) I started this project yesterday afternoon, had to fish for SATA drivers for XP... what a nightmare... and I still have to find more XP drivers....
thanks again,
alex

Re: DualBootPro doesn't start
alex,
No problem. Good to know. XP SP1 was not on our list of requirements so I will get that updated on the site and in the installer.
I hear ya. It's sometime a bigger pain than it is worth. But, unfortunately, XP is still one of the most widely supported Windows OS's.
