installation : you need to run as Administrator...

Postby storline » Thu Jul 15, 2010 8:02 am

Hello,

I am using windows sbs 2008.
When I try to lunch the instalation of dualboot pro, it's say that I have to run the program under Adminsitrator mode.
I use my network administrator account and also tried to lunch "run as administrator" bit nothing worked.

Any idea?

storline,

Do you have the .NET Framework installed? That sounds like it might be the culprit. :yesnod: Are you getting any type of error message? Can you check to see if a process is being started when you launch DBP?

It's an error message when I try to lunch the installation program.
it says : Information : you need to run the setup program under an Administrator account.

What version of .NET framework do you have installed, it may need the newest version, or at least a newer version than you have, perhaps the one you have installed is 1.1 and you need at least 2.0

I noticed you said that you tried running under the network admin but have you tried under the local admin? Also, when you right click on any other program and choose Run As Admin does it work?

I will download and install SBS 2008 and see if maybe there might be something in there. It might take me until tomorrow but I'll find out what is going on.
