Its a beta build, everything isnt going to work for every PC.

Hopefully when Vail hits RC they get the RA working on mine too.

JD,

I know it is a beta, and won't work with every computer, etc. I had it installed on my D945GTP which has a Pentium D930 dual core, with 1 GB Ram, it worked on it, but I didn't get the RA working, of course now I realize it was the port forwarding on the router and not the computer.

At any rate I was just messing/joking with you. :yesnod:

99% of the time, it is port forwarding on the router or your ISP. Call you ISP and find out if they have you on a public IP or a private IP. If it is private then it will not work at all.

From what I remember you had the previous version working......
This version shoudl be somewaht the same. If you have all the ports they mention then check to make sure they are TCP and UDP accordingly.

Yes I did have RA working previously on WHS v. 1, but one day it quit working & I couldn't get it back to being accessible from away anymore.

I thought it was my ISP that shut down the RA on my line, after trying for a few days at getting RA working again, w/ no success.
Naturally my ISP said they didn't mess w/ my line.

Mark uses Verizon & has no problems w/ WHS v. 1 so I was thinking my next move is to reset the router to default (after backing up) & start w/ a fresh setup attempt.
There are 190+ -Networked Computer / Device- Network Address- (first 2 columns) items in my routers Port Forwarding (PFp) page.

I copied the PFp into excel to evaluate it.
I have 6 different IRQ addy's listed for the various PC's/ OS's or maybe there are old ones listed too, not sure.

Resetting the router to default factory settings sounds like a good idea, I had a orphan computer that was still listed but was no longer on the network, but still showed up in the router table.

Resetting the router to the default settings did-the-trick.
Forwarded port 80 & 443 to the server, turned on UPnP & the Remote Administration on the router.

I now have Remote Access working from withing the network, a improvement from previously.
Haven't tried from outside the network yet though.

No more web page though, I have to log-on to access anything & the http addy goes directly to the https log-on page.

Do you get the non https WHS web page?

also if you notice in the bottom right hand side, you should have a icon that will either open launchpad or Dashboard it should be green if there aren't any issues
