My USB connection keeps cutting out

My USB connection keeps cutting out

Postby Chippychap » Fri May 14, 2010 3:00 pm

Hi Guys, am using an Asus P5N-MX mobo.
Recently my Cyber Snipa USB mouse keeps freezing, only a couple of seconds at a time but REALLY frustrating.
My Win 7 is set to make a noise when connecting/disconnecting from the USB. and it makes that noise when freezing
AND unfreezing. Just as though I'm plugging and then unplugging the mouse.
Unfortunately the USB sockets are integral to the mobo.
Any ideas as to whether it is on the way out, or what can I do?

ASUS MB usually come with USB expansions that you can utilize in a slot on the back of your computer. I would try adding one of those first to see what happens. If it happens when you add one of them then it is probably your mouse. Or you can get another USB mouse and try it to see what happens.
