I concur, whilst I have had a lot of respect for CA in the past (I used to be a fan of Super Project Expert when I worked for Compaq I have been less impressed by CA current suite of applications. I use MS Security Essentials for my own personal security. It appears to be very non intrusive and doesn't appear to have much impact on the performance of my current machine. I have also had success with Avast and AVG in the past.
