I have a different twist to the common missing \ntldr problem. I get the expected choice of booting to Vista or XP and if I choose XP it boots correctly 75% of the time. For the other 25% I get the 'missing \ntldr' message. I press Esc to reboot and then it always boots into XP correctly. If I choose Vista it always boots correctly. Any explanations?
With a 2-disk sytem (Vista disk C and XP disk D) my BDC view is:

copy the file ntldr to the root of your hard drives - all of them.

To be honest, it sounds like 1 of 2 things. Either your hard drive is failing or you have a virus on your system that effects your boot records.
