hi,

sorry for my bad english, but im from germany.

i was running Windows XP Professional on my pc, but decided to run win vista ultimate 64 bit on a different HDD, because i have 8gb ram.
i installed windows vista on the other HDD, but when i restarted my pc and wanted to boot XP, nothing happened. i read a lot of forum posts the last days, but nothing works. i treid fixboot and fixmbr in the repairconsole (??) of win xp and tried to recreate the boot ini, but nothing helps. now, i can boot xp, but when i see the windoes xp screen and the loading bar, it frezes. i can boot it in save mode. after i tried to fix it with fixmbr, i cant even boot my vista. pls help, im really desperate^^

i shoul tell u, that my xp is onm D: and the vista on c:

Please read the guide below. Just replace Windows 7 with Vista. They use the same boot process.

the problem is, that i cant boot my win vista and my xp only in save mode. i can open hdd D:, where xp is installed, but i cant open C:, the vista HDD

Insert the Vista DVD and do a Startup repair....................

When you did the fixmbr form XP cd you corrupted the Vista bootmgr
