I know there is an easy way to do this, but how do I save a movies from youtube to my computer for offline use?

It's small, free, and snags just about any video of any type from any page! Also does automatic conversion on the fly by installing another plugin, or you can manually convert.

I've been using it on Vista for about 3 years.

i simply use VideoGet who downloads videos from youtube and converts them into .avi files

I use a program called VDownloader. It will download and convert YouTube videos to various formats such as .avi, .mpg, .mp3(audio only) and .3gp(mobile phones) plus loads more.
