doesn't see vista after installing xp

Postby HighAndDry » Sat Dec 05, 2009 9:01 am

I had vista installed on my sony laptop. I had used this in a dual boot config before with vista boot pro. but I just did a clean install of vista and got that up and running. I then installed dual boot pro. on bootup it saw both partitions. but after I installed sp on the other partition it is not seeing vista. the options i have are both xp. when I pick the second one it gives me a message that it can't boot. do i need to install dual boot pro on xp or something?

Try a boot repair using your Vista DVD.

I installed dual boot pro on xp and tweaked around with it. Now I can't get XP to boot! I have tried using the installation disc. Basically it can't find ntldr

I solved the problem by finding ntldr and pasting it into the root directory of the xp drive

Do you have your dual boot running yet?
