Hidden themes in Windows 7
This isn't exactly news but I found a nice tut on how to do it.
Hidden Themes in Windows 7
just to remind you as we head to-wards the launch of windows 7 in that there are some additional hidden themes to be unlocked for those of you wishing to do so
Now to unlock them remember that they are super hidden so you will need to do the following
1. Open Windows Explorer
2. Click Organize, and select Folder and Search Options.
3. Go to View tab.
4. Select Show hidden files, folders and drivers and uncheck Hide protected operating system files (Recommended). If prompted with confirmation, click Yes.
5. Click OK.
6. Browse to the following folder:
Windows\Globalization
in this folder you will find the following files
ELS and sorting
don't concern yourself with these two folders but in the top right hand corner in the search bar your see the words search Globalization click in THE pane which will then be blank and then input the words C:\Windows\Globalization\MCT at this point the following theme folders will be revealed you then just click on those you require
7. There are five folders you need to look for with format MCT-XX (where XX is AU, CA, GB, US, or ZA) which represents globalization settings for each region. Go into the folder that you want to activate its theme
don't forget when your finished to go back to your folder options in the control panel and re tick Select Show hidden files, folders and drivers and uncheck Hide protected operating system files to hide again

Re: Hidden themes in Windows 7
Weird. Those seem to be all enabled by default on my installations, maybe because of my country selection during setup.

I found a bunch more surfing around yesterday on the Windows 7 website. There a few duplicate countries, but the desktop backgrounds are different for the dupes. see here
