BOOTMGR IS MISSING (so Vista won't start)
Hi,
I can't get windows Vista started on my PC.
One day it just stopped working.
It starts up (BIOS boot works well), and then it stops and it says:
BOOTMGR IS MISSING
Press any key to restart.
Windows Vista is installed on my C-disk, I have another Disk D that I use for data, but is empty.
I tried to use my Vista installation disk of course, to use the repair options, or to install Vista again. But the installation CD'can't find/recognize my C harddisk. Also when I choose the option to use the dos path, it can't find my C-disk.
It regonizes my empty D-disk and call this one C.
There must be something wrong with this bootmgr file. Or my Vista installation.
Maybe i have to find a way to get into my C-disk, to use DOS commands to repair something?
Can anyone help me?
And can I use the Vista Boot Pro software? Can I make a boot disk with it, so i can use it on my PC?
Thanks.

Sounds to me as if your drive Cis screwed up. Go into Bios and see if it sees your drive C
