Different BCD ID
Has anyone seen an entry like this? What does it mean?
Name: xppro
BCD ID: {6837623c-f49b-11dd-942a-0017f205d922}
Boot Drive: D:
System Bootloader: \ntldr
Re: Different BCD ID
Each entry in the BCD (boot configuration data store) has a unique BCD ID with digits similar to that you indicate. If one uses BCDedit.exe to make changes to the boot menu, one must use that identifier at the command prompt to make changes like renaming and so on. See here for more info: how-to-edit-the-windows-vista-boot-menu-options-t79102.html
VistaBootPRO provides a user interface to making those changes, but nevertheless needs to run/call those BCD commands to give effect to the changes.
