Introduction to Windows 7 Technet Videos

Postby augie » Sat May 16, 2009 11:35 am

With our new OS now at release candidate stage, we’ve created a series of videos and resources to help make your road to Windows 7 a smooth one. To fully prepare you for deployment, we’ll be releasing two videos every week in which our experts James O’Neill and Jamie Burgess will give you the information you need on user experience, enterprise, deployment, productivity, application compatibility and security.

The first of seven videos is available for you to watch on TechNet right now:

Technet

You will need to have MS Silverlight installed to view the video, it's a 4.7MB download. There's also some other good links there.

Ya, it was decent but a bit short on how-to's, mind you this is aimed at IT folk and not folk like me. I'll certainly watch the rest of the videos. :yesnod:

I check back at your link this AM & found that the "Windows 7 User Experience" video is up now.

I really like that one.
I never tagged my photos but after seeing what win7 does compared to Vista, I'm definitely going to start using that feature too.
Really nice that Win7 gives one a 3D view of the sorted photos instead of the flat view as in Vista.

Many new new features are demoed by these two English guys.

Edit: here is a link to the James O'Neill's blog (one of the speakers) that refers to his blog for more info.

Edit2: Here is a example of Win7 arranged the photos by tag

Ya, that was a good vid JD! It surprises me at how little I knew about W7 and would have taken me ages to find basically simple stuff like that, if at all! I no longer have the patience to just click on anything like a kid.

These vids are too far out there for me. I did like the 'IT Productivity' one for the explanation on 'Problem Steps Recorder' which not only records issues but one can create a video of how to do something in no ambiguous terms for the user and much quicker and accurate than typing it out. This is a great tool which should have already been possible and could be good for a help forum.

The shell is amazing and I hope I have a purpose to learn it. A nice CLI interface with no DOS in sight! I haven't watched the last two yet as my head is about to explode!
