bridged networking not working in VMWare/Ubuntu

Postby yeshuas » Tue May 05, 2009 12:33 pm

I think it may be something in Windows 7 preventing the bridged networking from working with the Folding in VMWare with the Ubuntu 8.04 and then setting it up to fold. Where it normally has the two monitor looking icons it has the animated dots with a line like thing going in a circle around them, "saying requesting a network address from wired network."

Power off Ubuntu and go into VM/settings and double check the parameters.

EDIT: Oh, if the host is actively refusing the connection then a firewall could be the issue

I manually added VMServer and managed wired networks to be allowed through the firewall
