I'm putting this here as many won't check the DC forums. I just bought a EVGA E-GEFORCE GTX 260 Core 216 SC 55NM 626MHZ 896MB 2.1GHZ DDR3!!!!! ^*^ :peanutbutta :yahoo: Shipping and taxes brought it up to $268 CDN!

I was somewhat disappointed at newegg.ca, they had a seemingly slightly better price @ $220 CDN for the same card with a $20 MIR but tacked on a $30 handling fee  along with a reasonable $12 shipping charge and charged provincial taxes too instead of just the %5 federal taxes with NCIX. It would have come out to $292. :no

I can't wait to install it! :uhhh Hey guys, I'll give you a run for the money now! :drinking Seriously, this is the last upgrade for quite a while to come as I can't afford a new machine for a while, at least a year if not two.

Man NewEgg in Canada must suck charging all that extra, I was afraid they were going to charge you rediculous VAT for the fan.

The one to catch is Bill, he is a Flat Folding Fenom (I know it is spelled phenom) at the moment. But that is alright with me, because like you, I have no budget for any extra toys at the moment.

Like I always said Dan, 'affordable folding'.;) While looking at the ovoid's offerings, there seemed to be a deal with this card and when I went to check out they wanted $60 extra for a bundled game too. CoD it was, if one isn't watching and gets too click happy, then one loses. I would have bought that even though it cost more so's my grand-kid could play it here, but I didn't like the apparent bait and switch and then the handling charge over that price, that put me over the top! :-x

I wanted to see the ovoid here for extra competition but they fell flat on their faces IMO. Too bad man! I'll stick with NCIX or other Canadian firms. :yesnod:

I will be really happy if anyone catches and passes me ^*^
I am folding for the team and am fortunate enough to have cash for my toys but now i am at the end because of space limitations.
When we lived in the other house i had a room just for the PCs but now we live in an apartment i just don't have the space and my wife is a bit rebellious when it comes to having all my " computer junk" (her words) in the living room plus she does not like my desk because all our furniture is in antique style and the PC desk is modern. ( I have just ordered a new desk that is more in style with the other furniture)
So go to it guys and grab more points.Image

I grabbed the card because the price was right compared to a couple of months ago. $150 difference.

Just got it today! ^*^ Jeez what a big and heavy card this is! I knew it was big but looking at it now scares me a tad. I did measure to make sure I had the room but still... Anyways, this isn't going in until I solve my BIOS issue first.:(

I am afraid that is too much card for your system, I think you need to back away from the card and send it to me.

I love my nVidia 260-216 card Algis, and I am sure you will too. ^*^

Well, seems my PSU ain't strong enough and I knew I was gambling on this but got bit this time. :whistle Darn, moving the rigs around really screwed me over internet wise for some reason. I even installed an NIC in the quad but I kept getting no connection even though the modem showed the PC was connected, maybe I have to disable the onboard NIC, IDK. Anyways, this gives me a good excuse to straighten out the rat's nest once and for all! (Ya right! )

Posting this from my X2 rig, even this started up weird with strange pixels and some Ubuntu start up letters were in colours but everything's OK when in the program. BTW, not looking for help yet but the quad is troubling me what with the BIOS issues too.:(

I finally decided on a PSU for the 260, the price is right and it has one 60A rail to supply everything.http://www.ncix.com/products/?sku=26415&vpn=CMPSU-750TX&manufacture=Corsair&promoid=1074#Specifications Besides that, since I have a case with a bottom mounted PSU slot, I won't have to install it upside down since it has a bottom fan and a bonus is that the cables will come out next to the right side simplifying cable management. :yesnod:
