Broken Fan

Broken Fan

Postby imnuts » Sun Apr 26, 2009 3:09 am

I have a fan that isn't balanced anymore or something and is rattling really loudly in my case on my computer. It did it a few weeks ago, but then stopped after doing so basically all night as I woke up the next morning and it was ok. The problem is, it's come back and has started doing it again. It's the fan on the side of the case on the door that opens to allow access to the case. What I'm wondering, does anyone think that it'd harm my system to unplug the fan while my computer is running? I want to replace it or remove it or something to stop the noise as it's not only vibrating itself, but also vibrating the plexiglass window and entire door, but I'd rather not shut down my computer to do so as I just like keeping everything running all the time.

I'll try to find the connection for it tomorrow at some point. Could be tricky to do since it's in my desk and I can't really move it to an easier place to work on it :hmmm:

In your desk, you mean like in a side compartment, and doesn't it get awfully hot in there?????????
