Thanks and I did all that.Seems to me something holds the partioning @ the end and it crashes.

Post a screenshot of your Disk Management please scrambledlife so we can see what's going on there.

Gravity ,you were right after couple more restart and recheck everything I could shrink it and install xp.Thanks for ur help.Now I am working on my otherx64 quad but like my body said this one has 8gb memory.thanks again.
