Driver installation for ASUS F3KA

Driver installation for ASUS F3KA

Postby aquarius999 » Mon Mar 09, 2009 4:23 am

I have ASUS F3KA with AMD Turion64 x 2 and ATI Rad. graphics HD 2600, OS Vista Home.

Recently I've installed WinXP to the second partition with all provided drivers. I can't only install driver for ATI Rad. graphics HD 2600.

When I try to show direction to XP_INF, there is a note "The soft for this hardware ATI MOBILITY RADEON HD 2600 has not passed WinXP Logo testing....... If I click "Continue", system can't find some files to copy.
By the way I've tried drivers from tree different sources and got the same result.
Need help please.

What is giving you that error message? Windows Defender?

Where did you get the drivers from?

If you did not get them from the ATI/AMD website, try going there and then follow the prompts to download the correct ATI graphics suite for your graphics card, as there are several different ones and perhaps you got the wrong one the first time.

It is not indicated what exactly gives me this message. Antivirus is not installed yet and a firewall is disabled.
How to disable win. defender?
I have loaded drivers by speaking to people with same problems on forums, these are trusted applications and they worked for others. For some reason ATI does not have drivers for this computer XP version anymore, but I have a CD with this driver for Vista.

Now I need to reduce partition 90GB where Vista is and expand partition for XP.
Need help.
Thank you in advance.

From within Vista;
Right click My Computer, left click Manage. left click Disk Management, then right click the partition that you want to shrink.

To expand a partition, follow the same instructions except of course choose the partition that you want to expand

I was trying several times. Doesn't work for me. When I try to Shrink "C" with Vista there is a note from Logical Disk Manager - "Access denied". Impossible also to Extend volume from "D" with XP. :no

Are you signed in as Administrator?

Do you have UAC disabled, try enabling it if you do.

I've made it and after all changes I can't boot from Vista or XP. There is a note:
Windows failed to start
File: \ntldr
Status: 0xcooooo225
Info: The selected entry could not be loaded because the application is missing or corrupt.
What should I do?
