VistaBootPRO without Vista? And what about Server 2008?

Postby Pierre Gomez » Mon Feb 09, 2009 1:40 pm

1) Can your VistaBootPRO work on Windows Server 2003 & 2008 (32-bit/64-bit) installations?

2) Can I install it in a XP partition and work on other installed partitions?

3) Can it rename Windows Server 2008 boot menu items (the list of installed OS)?

Yes to all :)

I just checked the website and theres no mention of Windows Server 2003 & 2008 so thanks for posting your questions. We do need to indicate that it will work on 64-Bit versions of Windows too.

Pierre, you question 2 makes me want to just point out that VistaBootPRO is not a partition or boot manager but an editor to make changes to the boot configuration data store (BCD) of Vista and subsequent OS's which use the BCD.

OK.
You do not have another software that can edit the boot.ini or fix XP or 2003 partitions problems (say, the NTDLR message)?

editing the boot.ini file is easy to do with notepad.

What problems are you having exactly with partitioning?

No problem at the moment, but we have multiple problems in the past with dual VISTA/XP installations and recently with Windows Server 2008/XP/2003. We may give your software a try. Thank you.

Just remember that VistaBootPro is a GUI program that utilizes the Vista boot manager commands all in one interface. That way you do not have to remember all those command lines.

My boss asked me if we can get an evaluation copy of VistaBootPRO. That's how my company usually works. Would it be possible?
