Re: Acer AL1716 LCD Monitor dying?
This is what I would do and the order I would take.
Try another Cable
Remove and replace the Video card if it is not an onboard graphics

umm welllllll, I wouldnt know what a video card looks like, lol

Re: Acer AL1716 LCD Monitor dying?
Look where your monitor is hooked up to your machine, if it's on a vertical line with other connectors then you have onboard video, if it plugs into a horizontal connector then that's where your video card is. I have two video cards. Yours will not be so thick though as mine take up two slots each.

Well you will have to be careful as it may have a little plastic latch piece that holds the card, the latch will be toward the inside and connected to the motherboard. You just need to gently pull it back to release the graphics card.
I will see if I can find a picture for you.

Re: Acer AL1716 LCD Monitor dying?
Well all that did not resolve the problem. So my system is going into the shop tomorrow for a couple days.
He thinks it might be a motherboard problem.
I will post results back here.
Thank guys for your help
