Remove Dual Boot
My dual boot isn't working and I want to start over.
My dual boot screen shows
Windows 7 <---- working (on my C drive)
Windows XP <----- not working (on my D drive)
1. I want to remove dual boot and boot only to Win 7. Nt even get a dual boot screen if possible.
2. Then I'm going to re-install XP and setup Dual Boot from XP
Thanks,
Bill
Re: Remove Dual Boot
Start VBP
Go to the Manage OS Entries page
Highlite the XP entry and click on the Red X and the entry is gone
Do you know if there are any other entries besides Windows 7?

Re: Remove Dual Boot
When I did a diagnosis and it listed several boot entries, most referring to a ram drive. I allowed the changes and rebooted.
Win 7 had to do a restore to boot.
Rebooted, restored Win 7 and went into VBP and removed all the ram drive entries.
Just did another diagnosis and all the ram drive entries are gone.
Just
Windows 7

Re: Remove Dual Boot
Ok ...it worked. Got a non-dual boot right into Win 7. (man Win 7 sure boots fast, whish XP would do that)
There's are article on this web page telling how I can setup a dual boot from XP to a preinstalled Win7
It states that Win 7 puts the boot files on a hidden partition. My boot files are not on a hidden partition.
Is that a concern?

Where are your boot files? Every time I have installed Windows 7 first to a system by itself, it has created a 200 MB partition and that is where it put the boot files.
What was the procedure you followed to install Windows 7, i.e. did you delete all partitions and format the drive/partition?
