Re: Windows 7 Hard Drive Performance Rating
I have an IDE drive on one on my x64 systems that gives me a 3.0 max score as well..............even as the other scores are upper 5's and 6's............ that's my x2-4200+ system

So do you think it is like a false negative, a misread, drivers just haven't caught up with this technology ??????????
I am totally at a lose...............

Re: Windows 7 Hard Drive Performance Rating
Not sure; I don't know if the Performance Rating program actually tests the IDE speed, or if it just detects that it IS an IDE drive. As long as the testing seems to go, I would presume it is actually testing the drive speeds (read/write). It would be nice to have a gui during the test to see what is being tested and what the individual scores rate

You can re-run the test. On the overview screen where it shows your scores, in the bottom right hand corner there should be a link to re-run the assessment and it will tell you what it is testing through the test. It doesn't tell you what it's doing however. I just upgraded to Ultimate and I had to re-run the test due to a hardware change (even though nothing changed) and it gave me a score of 1.0 as it seemed like it didn't run the graphics tests right as that's where I got the lowest score. Ran the test again and ended up with what I had previously, 5.3.

Re: Windows 7 Hard Drive Performance Rating
my previous scores were all 5.9, but with Windows 7 my primary harddrive gets a 3.0, no way that is right, not when I am running a Raid 0

Is that on Hardware RAID via the BIOS or software using something like Intels RAID Matrix Daniel?
Re: Windows 7 Hard Drive Performance Rating
Right............. even though it is a RAID-0; if it is software RAID, it will be slower than true hardware RAID
Re: Windows 7 Hard Drive Performance Rating
It is always possible that they have changed the ratings system for drive speeds due to the currently ongoing emergence of SSD hard drives
