Spyware Doctor and NOD32
i was working on a customers computer tonight and he has been running Spyware Doctor with Antivirus. His computer started acting funny and he wanted me to look at it and install NOD32.
The first thing I did was run MalwareBytes and it found 110 virsus. I then install NOD32 and it come back and said the a file in Spyware Doctor is nothing more that a virsus.
Hmmmmm
I trust NOD32 more so I removed the Spyware Doctor. It seem stha PCTools maybe publishing a virsus software also.

It could just be false positives that some of the components Spyware Doctor creates.
AVG for example has in the past identified some elements of VBP as being threats.
It does seem that the product is very highly recommended with awards from PC Magazine, PCWorld, and others.

I know that I saw something similar to Spyware Doctor one time that got picked up as spyware itself, when it was supposed to be protecting the system from it. Uninstalled it and ran spybot and then the popup problem on the computer went away.

After an uninstall of it and scan with NOD32 (caught 14) and scan with MalwareBytes (caught 110), the computer is running smooth now.
It woudl not even run a Windows Update.

Re: Spyware Doctor and NOD32
i don't know what to say about spyware doctor. it has big issues. Not stable, has bugs. i know it was good reviewed by some magazines but in my opinion, kaspersky is still the best antivirus/antispyware.
