Ok so I have a 150gb 10k RPM Raptor X with 16mb cache and SATA 1.5gbs

and a Cavalier SE WD5000KS 500gb 7200 RPM 16mb cache SATA 3.0gbs

What HD should be master, what should be slave?
What HD should hold the OS and where should the page file go?

Which drive has a faster seek time? That is the drive that should have the OS and the pagefile. The OS and the pagefile are written to very often, but with very small changes. The drive that has a higher seek time, but better sustained write speeds is where your data should go because your data is usually larger than most of the OS files.

Awesome, thanks for the tip! Turns out the raptor has about half the seek time so I slapped both the OS and the page file on it. Just wish the drive was not so noisy.
