Sounds to me like the software does not see the hard drive. Is this older software and newer computer?

What kind of laptop are you running? If you have a SATA HDD in the laptop which is common on newer laptops, you have to go into the BIOs on the laptop and change the type of HDD it is before the program will recognize it. I can't remember the exact name but I believe it is ACPI. It is a mode within the BIOs on the computer, I know that and ACPI is what is coming to memory. I am running an IBM ThinkPad z61m and I had to do that with my fresh install.
