Lite-On DH-4O1S-11 - List of What Does and Does Not Play

Postby tWeaKmoD » Wed Sep 17, 2008 9:57 pm

I had previously posted a question regarding my blu-rays skipping with my Lite-On drive. Since I found out that it is a problem with the drive, I am scared to buy a Blu-ray movie because of the chances it may not work. I wanted to keep this list to help people so they don't waste their money on a blu-ray with this drive that won't work. So if you have this drive, feel free to update with movies you are finding to work or not work. If you have a different model, post that because I am sure there are differences.

As far as I can tell, regular DVDs have no issue on this drive and updating the drive to the newest firmware has not helped.

Works Flawlessly
Acopalypto
Be Kind Rewind

Works but with With Some Skips
27 Dresses

There will be Blood

Most Bluray and to some degree HDdvd are affected by CPU speed and what type of video card your running

would you mind adding your hardware specs to your post

Very good point athlonite. With the specs I have, I would not expect negative playback with Blu-rays. It isn't a big gaming rig by any means, but for a multimedia PC it should be fine.

CPU: AMD Athlon 64 4000+
Video: GeForce 8500 GT 512MB 128-bit GDDR2 PCI Express x16
Ram: 2GB
Sound: Sound Blaster Audigy 2
HDD: 2 WD 250 GB
