super noob question - makin a pop up window

I have tried using the javscript auto popup makers but I can't get it to work. Can u all help me out. I don't want any toolbars, status bar or scrollbars. :notworthy

I've never done it but i found this site which seems to have a fairly straight forward tutorial.
