router port forwarding

router port forwarding

Postby Netopia » Sun Sep 30, 2007 10:03 pm

Hello,

I have 2 servers based in my home. I have an older Linksys wired router, with lots of ports forwarded. the problem is, it only lets me forward about 5-10 ports, but i need more than that.

Any suggestions?

What model Linksys router is it? You can use a third-party firmware such as DD-WRT to forward lots of ports if you have a compatible model/version

its a BEFSR41v3 (I think). the firmware dates back to April 2004. I bought it in September 2004...

Thanks!

Hy!

I couldn't find your router under the supported devices list for DD-WRT but you can search for a newer firmware on Linksys' homepage (maybe that fixes your problem). You can also forward port ranges - maybe that helps you.
Installing DD-WRT on your router could be risky if it's not supported.

Good luck!

Best wishes,
