Only antivirus I use is NOD32
You could download their free trial and see if that picks up on anything

NOD32 is my top choice, Avast is my free alternative. Both of them work great for me. While I prefer NOD32, I have a lot of customers with old computers who don't care so much about viruses and just want a free (yet still very good) antivirus. I can't speak for Panda though.

But if you are having corrupt sectors on your HDD, scan for viruses and do a backup of irreplaceable stuff just in case. I mean, most viruses won't do anything more than slow you down or turn your comp into a spam machine.

I have had NUMEROUS issues with panda. Also it isn't very user friendly. From a client standpoint I think avast is the best. You don't do anything as an end user other than click delete when viruses come up. Very automated. Also it doesnt hurt that it is free.
