How To: Clean Install an Upgrade Edition of Vista

How To: Clean Install an Upgrade Edition of Vista

<img src="http://parcom.pro-networks.org/images/0113orb.JPG" align="right">LOL

It's actually DEAD simple, took me about 10 seconds to test it ---

Clean install Vista using the Universal product key (as publicly provided by Microsoft) :

YFKBB-PQJJV-G996G-VWGXY-2V3X8

... making sure you select the same version of Vista that you have purchased.

Alternatively, use the Vista Default Product Keys (also publicly provided by Microsoft) :

Business - 4D2XH-PRBMM-8Q22B-K8BM3-MRW4W

HomeBasic - RCG7P-TX42D-HM8FM-TCFCW-3V4VD

HomePremium - X9HTF-MKJQQ-XK376-TJ7T4-76PKF

Ultimate - VMCB9-FDRV6-6CDQM-RV23K-RP8F7

( ... naturally, you cannot activate Windows using any of these public product keys :roleeyes --
-- they will merely let you install a (legal) 30-day trial version of Windows Vista ;) )

After first boot, set up your internet connection, and go online ; then right-click on Computer and select Properties.

At the bottom of the window, click on Change Product Key, and enter your product key.

Let automatic activation proceed

(in other words, no more Vista to Vista upgrade nonsense, squeaky clean installation using an Upgrade version is a real possibility :yahoo: ... ;) )

---

Clearly, Microsoft's tactics here are aimed at providing the easiest possible means to help people turn pirated copies of Windows into Genuine, and also to help the tech-savviest members of their clientele get a free discount to thank them for their know-how, and to bribe them a little to go Genuine instead of Pirate Edition.

---

BTW: This process will not work if you do not own any License from Microsoft for Windows Vista

PPS I will test the full procedure outlined above, but I've little or no doubt that it will work as advertised --- the crucial fact is that the "Change Product Key" procedure of Windows Vista accepts Upgrade keys ;)

LOL, it also works using the blank product key --- you just clean install the version of Vista you have purchased, do NOT enter your product key, go online, and use your product key to activate ; it's just so AMAZINGLY easy  :P ^*^ :yahoo:
