I'm a newbie my e-mail add is [e-mail removed by ginogsm for member's safety]

What type of hardware I need for email server. most of the pcs will access to the linux server are windos xp pro platform

It would be set up for a small business (Small Non Profit Agency) and would probably be set up primarily for internal use but would also need to be used with external mail also.

I want to try and teach myself as I go along with this project.thanks for your help

Hey mate. Please avoid posting your e-mail addy. I removed it to protect you from spamming.

In any case here's what I found out from a google search : This link describes most of the mail servers that run on Linux and this link is a quick how-to.

All linux distibutions are Linux in any case. this means you don't have to pick any particular distro. I would recommend Gentoo as it is easy , Fedora Core ( the latest ) as it is my favourite or any other you might like. The ease of use that I refer to above has to do with the tools provided , included or come pre-installed with the certain distro.
