error while trying to install XP on Vista installed system (dual boot)

hi all,

i just joined today and thought this was a cool forum. ^*^

ok, i'm trying to install xp on a second partition. i followed gravity's tut on creating partitions and installing xp on a vista system. when i booted from the xp disc, it went through the drivers and all, then got BSD when windows is starting was displayed at the bottom. the error was:

0x0000007B

i have a dell xps 410
Intel Core 2 Duo Processor E6600 (4MB L2 Cache,2.4GHz,1066)
Vista Home Premium
2 GB DDR2 ram
250 GB Serial ATA HD

I am not sure if you've seen this, but it should be a big help: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/324103

Basically I don't think this error has anything to do with Vista. Try reinstalling XP again.

Just try installing XP again from the start. If that doesn't work we can try some of the things in that knowledge base article.

did u have the correct driver for ur sata hdd?
try disable sata support in bios then install xp
sorry if that does not help
