Strange thing- I've been hearing a little sound clip - an electric guitar to be exact. It starts out loud then fades away. Very strange- my laptop never did that before. I reinstalled it just in case and then... I hear it again!
It sometimes appears very frequently or after a long time interval. Just to be safe I wiped everyone off my laptop but... I can hear it again.

Any ideas? It's driving me CRAZY :confused

I'm guessing you've checked your sound settings and all.................. possibly your 'puter is picking up some 'frequencies' or something.....?? I know on my system upstairs I can hear the cable modem network traffic on the speakers sometimes.........

How about checking in Control Panel / Sounds and run through all the sounds and see if the sound you are hearing is one of those. If you find a match, look at the event that it's hooked up to and if you find it you can turn off the sound.

Hmm, at times say for a week I'll hear a sound like a door opening and closing and very faint, after it just disappeared for several months until it came back. I even changed speakers (not because of this) and it's the same. I never did solve solve it. I guess there's a ghost in there. :confused
