Webwasher
Somehow Webwasher has found its way onto my computer and has a load of sites blocked. When i go onto certain websites this message comes up
Webwasher Content Filter
Access to the following URL has been prevented:
I've no idea how it got onto my computer or no idea how to get rid of it.
Its a cyberguard product apparently.
It doesn't seem to be running in processes, or its not installed anywhere of the usual places on the computer.
How do I get rid of it?

I installed Webwasher Personal 3.4 to see what happens and it uninstalled perfectly through add/remove. My main concern is how did it get onto your system in the first place. Recently, I saw how a spambot using a pirated Kaspersky wiping out the competition. I don't think it's the same thing. Does anyone else have access to your computer?

Well content protection... obviously someone must have sneaked in and installed it on your computer. How is a mystery. Maybe they did an offsite deployment of the application but certainly it doesn't look like malware.
Maybe you can uninstall it safely from safemode?

The reason I was asking about content filtering is a lot of parents install this type of software to make sure the younger generation do not go to site they should not be at to begin with. You should be able to uninstall the Webwasher and it uninstall the filtering. Or you may can change the option within Webwasher and disable the filtering. If somebody else has installed this software and has password protection on it and you do not know the password then you are limited to the resolution to this. You should be asking who installed the program and talking with them about the issue. If you are not the one who installed it then find out who installed it and resolve the issue with them.
