I have a 3.3 at the moment. My new Vista ready PC next year should be much better. I'm waiting to get it after Vista comes out ;)

This 4.5 by Steven Bink is the highest I've seen yet. He must have one hell of a graphics card.

Currently I have a 4.3, which isn't bad for a 2 year old system, hopefully I will have much higher when I get my Core 2 system put together :yesnod:

What graphics card are you using? I think I got a 3 because of my graphics mainly.

Here my weakest link is the substandard DDR2 667 MHz RAM that I'm using. Once I get hold of DDR2 800 Mhz modules I think my CPU will be the sticking point. This is the main system in my signature.

Make sure you are all taking the numbers off the same build also.
On 5472 my AMD x64 3800+ was a 4.0 and my P4 3 was a 3.6-3.9.

Now that I installed 5536, my P4 is now 4.2

How the heck do I only have a 4.8 with a Pentium D 930 processor? Even my WD 40GB hard drive with 2MB cache has a 5.0 rating.

Binks' score is limited by his CPU, not by his GPU.

My own score is limited to 2.0 by my FX 5200 graphics card, although when the DX10 cards come out and I finally upgrade my GPU, it will be limited to 4.1 by my Athlon64 3200+ Winchester, although I could certainly increase that by overclocking some more --- or getting a better CPU (probably not for this machine though :whistle ). But my RAM will in any case limit this PC to a 4.5 max (or thereabouts, depending on overclocking, as my OC is not currently maxed out), as this is the only non-upgradeable component in the system... :whistle

When the new hardware comes out, especially the DX10 GPUs and the faster DDR2 RAM modules, I would not be surprised to see scores of 6 or higher on the more powerful new rigs...

---

BTW John, what kind of RAM are you using ? it looks like you must be using either single channel DDR1 or otherwise have only a single RAM stick installed :question

For me on 5456 x64 I get
AMD 64x2 4800+ 5.4
ram 4gb 3.8
hard disk 74gb raptor non raid 4.1
nvidia 7800gtx 256mb 5.9
gaming 5.8

overall 3

think from memory, 5472 was similar

Not a high score story...but I was pleasantly surprised that my score with 5536 went UP to a 3.1.
It had been a 2.0 on all previous builds of Vista. ^*^
