Free Vista AntiVirus

HI, as there seems to be little out there for AV on Vista. I've just installed the CA av product and it seems to work fine, so if you need an av for Vista check it out.

It's available from CA at

We also have an article about this as well as a press release posted in our Vista News forum <a href="http://www.pro-networks.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=76751&highlight=free+antivirus+vista" target="_blank">HERE</a>. :yesnod:

In addition, Trend Micro is also offering a free antivirus trial for Windows Vista. That info is posted <a href="http://www.pro-networks.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=77002" target="_blank">HERE</a>.

The TrendMicro one is a full Suite.

I tried the EZ AV one and had all sorts of problems. I wound up uninstalling it and running with no AV until I found that the TrendMicro one was ready.

I downloaded and installed the Trend Micro product on my Vista test install here at work yesterday. I'm trying to devote an hour or so a day to testing out all aspects of Vista in relation to our company and this seemed like an interesting product to have a look at!

Unfortunately, this free trial is only 90 days. But $25 US isn't that bad.

I d/led the CA. Even though I read that NOD did not work I had to try it anyway. NOD started out with errors in the control panel startup. Somehow I got those resolved. I got Vista to startup with no erros in NOD. Hey I thought this was great... I then tried to open the contol panel and it froze . Rebooted and open the control panel again... hey it worked. Tried to setup AMON. and it froze. Anyway before it was all said and done I ended up scrapping NOD32, throwing all my notes away (ok ok I was mad, real mad) and donwing CA and installing it :)
