Norton Antivirus 2005

Norton Antivirus 2005

Postby Sonic98 » Tue Feb 28, 2006 5:57 am

I have made a back-up copy of my WinXP, OfficeXP and Norton 2005 CDs on my 2nd hard drive, and I usually run any re-installs of Norton from there and just use the code from my CD. I was wondering if there is anyway to update the virus defintions before I install the program if I erase everything incase I can't get back on the net right away or don't want to take all the time re-downloading. Is there anyway they can be backed-up? Should I just downloaded an offline copy of the latest defintions before I erase everything?

Offlining would be you best bet with Norton. I woul dnot try to slipstream it in anyway due to it is already a flaky program.

I think that's what I'll do. What program do you consider not to be flaky?

Well I'll just assume you all are right, and this is not a case of a small group to geeks on a campaign to get every one over to their favorite program. LOL

But seriously, what do yall know bout Bitdefender and F-Secure.

They are better than nothing at all. That is all I will say about them. I rather see you run Bitdefender or FSecure than Norton. But if you want the best then get NOD32 from www.eset.com

Thanks for the info. I'll check it out as soon as my net stops trippin. I don't know what's up with these ratings sites. They must be paid because I know some of them have certain programs listed too high.
